The possibility of travel in 2021 is quickly becoming a reality as improved safety protocols and COVID-19 vaccines are released. We’ve felt that rush of anticipation as we start to think about packing a suitcase, stepping out the door and returning to what we love best.

We’re not alone. Many travelers keep telling us how eager they are to get back out into the world. We recently sent out a survey to find out what Christians think about travel; more than 85 percent of you said you were ready to explore the world again. According to a separate survey from the Travel Leaders Group and World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), 70 percent of U.S. and Canadian travelers are planning to vacation in 2021. This gives us tremendous hope for the months ahead.

And why shouldn’t it? There is nothing like traveling together with those we love to make lifetime memories and bask in the wonder of God’s creation. As we look forward to brighter days, it’s encouraging to see that several of our favorite places are listed among National Geographic’s list of the top destinations in 2021

Here’s a snapshot of what we love about these destinations.

Alaska

There’s a reason that so much programming on cable TV is centered on Alaska. It is one of the most stunning places in North America. Few regions put you in close contact with the natural world like this majestic land of glaciers, wildlife, waterfalls and wilderness.

Glacier Bay, Alaska

When we think of our cruises to Alaska, we remember the experiences that immerse us in those epic places, like riding over the Juneau icefield on a floatplane, cruising through the unworldly waters of Glacier Bay, or the delight of watching a breaching humpback whale. Whether you love land or sea, shopping or fishing, wildlife-viewing or people-watching, Alaska offers something for everyone. It never fails to take our breath away while proclaiming the wonders of the Creator.

The Caribbean

When you think of a tropical paradise vacation, what comes to mind? If you’re like most travelers, you picture turquoise waters, warm breezes and invigorating walks with an ocean view. This is the renowned and authentic beauty of the Caribbean. Our Christian cruises allow you to easily island hop and explore multiple destinations in this welcoming part of the world.

San Juan Gate, Puerto Rico

In Puerto Rico, you can watch the sunset over the Spanish fortress overlooking Old San Juan, or hike through El Yunque, the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. From riding horses on Grand Turk’s beaches to soaking up the sun on Half Moon Cay, the opportunities to get away and grow closer to God are endless in the Caribbean.

The Continental USA

A few of the places highlighted on National Geographic’s list are right here in the United States. There is so much to explore and discover from the grand landscapes of the midwest to captivating cities like Charleston, once again rated as the top city to visit in the U.S. These accessible places, without the expense or time commitment of an international flight, have fueled the growing trend toward domestic travel.

Nashville, Tennessee downtown with Cumberland River

A Christian tour to Nashville, a legendary music city, includes an insider’s look at places like the Ryman Auditorium, Grand Ole Opry and RCA Studio B—where icons from Elvis to Dolly Parton recorded their hits.

We also can’t wait to return to the city of Cincinnati. It not only boasts a jaw-dropping reconstruction of Noah’s ark at the Ark Encounter, but is also where many of our friends including Dr. David Jeremiah, Karen Peck & New River, Triumphant, Lauren Talley and many others will be performing this Fall in the “40 days and 40 nights of Gospel Music” festival. Each of these destinations can fulfill your wanderlust, inspire your faith and give you the chance to experience America in a fresh way.

The only question remaining as we enter the new year is: Where will you go in 2021?

We can’t wait to travel with you again soon!
