Norwegian Cruise Line, a valued travel partner for our Christian cruise vacations, continue to earn their reputation as one of the most innovative and customer-focused cruise companies in the world. Over the past several years, CEO Kevin Sheehan has revitalized the entire Norwegian corporate culture, turning what had become a mediocre cruise line several years ago into one of the industry’s major success stories today.

This accomplishment is visible with the launch of the Manhattan-based Norwegian Breakaway, a new 4,000-passenger ship that debuted in May 2013 and will be used for 7 and 12-day cruises from New York City to the Bahamas, Bermuda, and Southern Caribbean. Described by cruise critics as a “game changer” for the industry, the Breakaway is the largest ship ever to port at Bermuda. It includes an open-air, New York-style boardwalk known as The Waterfront and the spectacular three-deck 678 Ocean Place, where guests will enjoy al fresco lounge and restaurant options.

With 27 restaurants on board, meal time on The Breakaway is designed to reflect the sweeping variety of New York City. These include everything from high-class seafood at Ocean Blu—the first restaurant at sea from Food Network star Geoffrey Zakarian—to an extension of the popular Carlo’s Bakery in Hoboken, courtesy of TLC “Cake Boss” star Buddy Valastro.

The Breakaway also makes waves with its inclusion of The Haven™, a collection of 42 deluxe suites at the top of the ship. On-board entertainment includes Tony-nominated Broadway productions and performers, along with a fireworks show toward the end of each cruise. Passengers will be able to check restaurant and entertainment availability using touch screens located throughout the ship.

The Breakaway’s sister ship, Norwegian Getaway, will be introduced in 2014 with weekly 7-day Eastern Caribbean cruises from Miami.

These changes and innovations illustrate Norwegian’s commitment to providing a customer-centric upscale vacation experience—which falls right in line with our values. We are proud to name them as a partner for quality Christian travel, and look forward to sailing soon from New York on the spectacular Norwegian Breakaway.
