MercyMe on the Brand New ms Koningsdam

The famed and stately Holland America Line (HAL) is a favorite worldwide and is Inspiration’s top cruise travel partner. More of our signature cruises take place on Holland America than on any other line. Our passengers love HAL ships for the luxury, fine dining and first-class accommodations they provide. We appreciate them because they consistently impress us and our guests with outstanding service and go the extra mile in helping us create unforgettable Christian travel experiences.

In the coming months, we are especially looking forward to the debut of HAL’s newest vessel, the ms Koningsdam, which launches in April 2016. The first of a brand-new class of ship and the largest vessel HAL has ever built, the Koningsdam will hold up to 2,650 guests and raise the bar for elegance at sea—even for Holland America’s already excellent fleet of ships. It celebrates Holland America’s 140+ years of Dutch heritage by bringing the classic features HAL ships are known for into a contemporary, new atmosphere. It boasts an Italian designer, complemented by a state-of-the-art interior that reflects the best in hospitality and maritime design.

Our friends at HAL tell us this ship will be highly innovative, built with light-filled public spaces, contemporary styling and the best in cruise technology. Among other amenities, this ship will include three live music stages: The first is the popular music venue, BB King’s Blues Club, which features an eight-piece band. The ship will also introduce a brand-new music collaboration called the Lincoln Center Stage. This chamber-music venue resulted from a partnership with New York’s iconic Lincoln Center. Another venue, Billboard Onboard, features live musicians playing contemporary music. Best of all, HAL has committed $300 million to bringing these Koningsdam innovations—musical and architectural—to the rest of its existing fleet. That means these novel upgrades will soon be available to all who cruise with Holland America.

Why are we so excited about the Koningsdam and its emphasis on great music venues? Only because this ship is our travel partner for MercyMe at Sea, January 15-22, 2017. We love that this music-focused cruise to the Western Caribbean will be taking place on a musically innovative ship, featuring one of the biggest artists in contemporary Christian music. The guys of MercyMe, along with their families, are thrilled to be performing and sailing on a brand-new cruise ship with their fans.
