Kay Arthur’s passion to establish people in God’s Word by teaching them to discover Truth for themselves began in 1970 when she and her husband Jack founded Precept Ministries International. Arthur has written over 100 books and Bible studies with four receiving the Gold Medallion Award. Kay reaches over 90 million viewers and listeners through Precepts for Life radio and television programs. She received the National Religious Broadcasters Award for Best Television Teaching Program in 2004 and 2009. Kay holds an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Tennessee Temple University. He also served several years as a pastor in the Presbyterian Church of America and the Associated Reformed Presbyterian denominations. Arthur directed Generous Giving’s communications and publications, as well as participating in one-on-one mentoring of pastors and church leaders who seek to establish cultures of generosity in their congregations. Prior to his pastoral work he was employed at IBM in Columbia, S.C. He holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational management from Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Ga., and a master’s in theology from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Miss. He and his wife, Margaret, live in Lookout Mountain with their three daughters.
